ABOUT US

“If you want to know my heart, partake in my food.”
In 2001 a dream came true for our Chef Nicos with the opening of the Colosseum Restaurant. Having traveled extensively through many countries, spending years educating himself in both Italian & French cuisine and savoring the many culinary delights, he felt ready to create his own dream. Only what didn’t change the 20 years in his culinary   career is the same passion and love when he is create something in the kitchen….

Double the Pleasure…. Introducing Colosseum II
Hardly a small acorn now, but 7 years later he has the pleasure of introducing you to Colosseum II.
For those unfortunate people who have not visited his restaurant there is absolutely no excuse now.
Colosseum II can be found opposite Alexander the Great Hotel next door to Kooh-hi-Noor. At ground level for easy access, Nicos has re-created a smaller, but perfectly formed replica of his already busy Colosseum I, so when you walk in, there is that familiarity, which is comforting. The menu is exactly the same offering A la Carte and the famous 3-course value meal; he has even created his own cava/wine section where you can sample the many international wines from the menu.
Nicos has not gone into this second restaurant lightly. After 7 years working hard at Danaes Street it seemed a natural progression. The first restaurant is large and ideal for big parties. It is set high on a terrace in beautiful Italian designed surroundings full of flowers and you feel you are in a garden in Tuscany  while the new place is a little smaller so if you are looking for an intimate dinner with an international mix in a romantic setting, this is the place for you. The same highly skilled staff are working between the two places and Nicos has a new Chef who works to his high standards. Between the two restaurants there is entertainment every evening so you can choose the atmosphere in which to dine.
So if you want to dine with or without entertainment you can choose which restaurant to book your reservations. Whichever one you choose you can be confident that the cuisine will be of a high calibre, (I have personally been dining there for 5 years so this has come straight from the “horses mouth”)
Nicos has travelled to the most influential Countries of culinary excellence and his menu certainly reflects this. French cuisine teamed with Italian flavours, (hardly surprising to learn that Nicos is Half Italian.)
There are very few restaurants where the owner is the chef and this is always impressive as the cuisine is made with true passion. Nicos speaks to his diners and welcomes feedback. He is happy to explain the cuts of meat he uses and will answer any questions about food or wine.
Nicos has what can only be described as the best wine cellar I have seen in a restaurant and his extensive selections are listed on his site complete with the prices. They vary from local produced wines to the New World featuring rarer bottles for the more discerning wine connoisseur.
Where else can you create your own evening, set in Italian ambience, with a wonderful choice of menu, offering the best wines available?
This surely is an offer that you can’t refuse!!
